That our movies and television shows (e.g. Star Trek and Star Wars) show futuristic communications as this kind of 3-D TV, holographs, but nobody thinks about biomedical engineering possibilities such as chips imbedded in our skulls that work like telepathy and allow us to consciously access others who also have the chips.
