How can I get an invention idea out there and start making money without having thousands to start with?

I have a few invention ideas I know I can make money off of, but everywhere I look to get my idea out there wants $10,000 to start off. Where can I go to get my idea out without having a fortune to start with?

  1. First you need to patent your invention. Have you done that? If not you need to contact a Patent Attorney. You do not want someone to steal your invention, because they will if they are given a chance to do that. Once you have the patent you can sell the patent to a corporation or get venture capital funding to start your own company. I will give you the experience of one of my colleagues. One of my colleagues patented an idea. He received an offer of $2,000,000 for his patent from a corporation active in that industry. He also received offers from several venture capitalists to fund him to start his own company. He chose to go with the venture capitalists because if he was successful the company that he created could have been woth much more than $2,000,000. Unfortunately about the time that he completed the research and development on the device, he was caught in the Dot Com meltdown. He needed further venture funding to get his device to market. He was able to get the venture funding for the research and development but by the time the device was ready he could not get the funding that he needed to get it to market. If you do not have experience starting your own company, I recommend that you patent your idea and sell it to a company in that industry that needs the patent. The venture capital is there, but the venture capitalists do not always have the funding available for you to get your product to market. If you do not already have a great deal of experience working with venture capitalists I recommend that you sell the patent to raise funds. You will have other ideas to patent and down the road you will have funds available from earlier patents that you sold to get your product to market on your own without having to depend on undependable venture capitalists..
